Estimated worth?..

Hi everyone, I'm somewhat new to computers. I've been reading a little about motherboards and systems but I find it a little confusing at times. I was approached by a friend to purchase a computer from his friend. These are the specs :

windows xp perfessional, AMD athlon 64 bit processor 3000+ 2.01 ghz, 1gb Ram, 60 gb hdd, 256 mb nvidia geforce 6600 graphic card.temp gauge, 9 card readers, 2 dvd drives and burners. costom green case with clear glass siding ( blue led lights inside and on fan)2 cooling fans. 17'' flat panel monitor, very good condition, no dead pixals. 2.1 surround sound by altec lansing. G-15 gaming K-board by logitech(keys light up blue and has a lcd screen built in for performance check and gaming details). and a high performance microsoft mouse and logitech headphones

What do you guys think is the estimated worth? Does $1000 seem about right?
 
Probably not.
How nice is the LCD?
How "custom" is the case? (brand?)
I would not pay a grand for that when you could easily build something that would dominate it.
 
agreed, and even then what would you rather have a pretty case or pretty eye candy? I'd go with the eye candy cause it's uber sweet.

For that 1000 bucks you can make a machine that will run alot better than that.
 
you would never get $1000 out of that, maybe like $500-700 tops maybe....i think the monitor would just "help" it sell. IMO
