I'm working on a ROV project that requires me to run a webcam from 10-100 ft away from my computer. I know USB wont make that distance too well, and the cords are typically too stiff anyways.

I'm not too informed on webcams but could I stream one with an Ethernet cable over that distance without anything else needed? If a separate power source is needed the best I can supply is 12VDC from a car battery.

    Thanks for any help!

Have you looked into getting a wireless webcam?

wireless will only penetrate 5-5meters. And i have to have a tether to the ROV anyways
