ethernet driver problem!

Hi all!,

I reinstalled windows xp on an emachine t3410 with the NVIDIA® nForce™® 410 chipset.

I reinstalled the drivers from emachine's website as well as the ones from the nvidia website, howerver i can't get the ethernet working!.

I go into my network connections and there are no connections. I go under device manager and there are no questions mark, In fact i can't even find the ethernet controler on the list!

What do you guys think the problem is and how can i fix it?

You might have a dead onboard nic card. Buy a separate pci network card to try to see if it works.
 
I have one laying around, I was thinking that.

It's my girlfriends computer and she just told me that she needs to use usb for it to work.

oh, my ex gf did that for her old computer, sounds like that the ethernet card on the motherboard has died, buy a new one of try and find the one you have laying around and put that in.

Its always better if more people agree on it in a thread then the person who has the problem will feel more comfortable going that route if more than one person says anything about it. Oh and I did read the post in fact I read the whole thread ;)

well quote the post and then say "ï agree" or something a long those lines.

Why if I want to say the same thing you did I will. I don't have to follow your made up rules saying I have to say "I agree" I don't see anywhere where it says that you are a mod.
