Anyone have any experience with this game? Ive read mixed opinions on it.Some love it some hate it.Seems a pretty indepth PvP game to.

i used to play eve. i thought it was quite impressive. you level up based on real time. you pick an occupation for yourself (trader, pirate, anti-pirate, mission runner, miner, etc) to make money. i've never played WOW, but i heard that dying in that game is "not that serious." dying in eve can have some dire consequences

Yeah unlike WoW, getting killed in Eve can both be expensive from an ISK (game money) point of few and in lost time. If you don't have an up to date clone you will lose the difference in skill points. ie if your clone supports 10 million sp and you have 30 million sp and you get podded (you have to have your pod destroyed not just your ship) then you lose 20 million skill points. The only way to get skill points is to set a skill to train and it ticks in real time even when you are not logged in.

I think eve has the best pvp of any mmo out there and it's a much more complex game if you want it to be. The economy is real and is driven by player corporations, there's no set price for anything, just what people will pay for it.

The graphics look nice from what I have seen .They were supposed to have a retail box with added extras go on sale this week.A big expansion pack was also included. The Mmorpgs today arent too good.I just cancelled my sub to Vanguard due too much cookiecutter ,handholding and Npc's with glowing icons above their heads, really dumbed down game.MMorpg's used to be alot better, now they seem to make them for people with no imagination or young children who have to have everything handed to them and want to be max level in 2 weeks times. Then they wonder why they get bored so fast,LOL.

Th Full PVP reminds like games used to be not what they are like now.Thx for the replies

Another nice thing with eve is the expansions are free. They add skills, ships, systems, etc and it doesn't cost you a dime. It usually comes with some extended/extra down time but you don't have to go out and buy anything.

Really?... I wonder why they are making such a big deal about their retail box if the DL is free?

My cable is only so-so. Road Runner = 7 Mbps down and only 384 Kbps up .They have a turbo package but it is another $10 per month for a slight speed increase.

i just downloaded the 21 day trial and so far i am pretty impressed. i have been doing baby stuff so far like protecting miners being harassed by pirates and struggling to figure out how to change ships/equip them/buy things etc. its a very, very overwhelming game at first. so far i have had zero interaction with other people, its all been pve so far. im hoping that will change soon.

also, my career path i chose is one of business, and i am somewhat concerned that the combat oriented players are going to harass me the entire game

I think the PvP is what everyone says makes this particular game enjoyable long term.I know it is pretty brutal being full loot capable
