Event Viewer Detail Log

Is there a way to get better details out of the event viewer? My computer has been shutting off at random over the past week and a half, I was just out and my boys were watching you tube videos when it froze and made a high pitched squeal. Is there a way to get more details then system lost power without shutting down first? I wonder why it's doing it?

Check the System logs in event viewer. Filter it by warning, error, and critical error and just page through the recent errors.

They're all kernal power id 41, about 8 of them over the last week. Yay.

Could be a failing psu.

I'm starting to suspect that, it's a little old.
