Every time I turn on my computer it installs NVIDIA nForce Class Controllers? Vista

Like the topic says I've got Windows Vista and EVERY SINGLE TIME that I turn on my computer, it says that it's installing NVIDIA nForce RAID Class Controller and NVIDIA nForce RAID Class Device. Even though it should be installed JUST fine the first time, it still goes through it EVERY time I turn on the computer, is there any way to get it to shut up about these controllers?
 
Those are board driver being mentioned there. Perhaps you forgot to see those installed when Windows was first installed and Windows is trying an automatic method by using generic drivers by default. The nForce is chipset while the other is for the onboard Sata/RAID type controllers there.
 
So they should be on the Vista DVD?

And than the other one, would that be on the RAID floppy disk that I had to make?
 
The software disk that comes along with the board is where those drivers are found. If bought with the still 2000/XP drivers even after Vista's initial release a year ago you would then need to go to the support site and look at that model board for the updates seen there.

Unlike XP Vista is far better equipped for seeing it's own detection of sata drives without a need for a driver floppy. The floppy you made up would seem to be more for an addon controller card rather then the onboard controllers. Being an AM2 board not a 939 model you shouldn't even need a driver floppy for XP there.
 
Alright, so I DEFINITELY think I figured it out this time. I just reinstalled Vista for the 5thish time this weekend. I think why it was doing this was because when I selected what hard drive I wanted, I didn't load the drivers for it. I was reading a website on how to install Vista on a RAID hard drive set-up, and it said that this was a necessary step. I haven't seen it yet, but this is the first time with the new installation that it's been turned on, so only time will tell if it actually worked, but I've got a good feeling about it.

My motherboard didn't come with a floppy, but I had a spare that I used to make a RAID set-up floppy. I told it to load the Drivers from there, and it found 3 drivers, 2 had the exact name of the drivers that weren't installing.

EDIT: Well.... FU**... I really thought that was going to work... This thing sucks...

With RAID those are always touchy and rather delicate. One little oops and your hair ends up being pulled out! There you have the option now of seeing two logical drives with one for storage/backup rather then going through the hassles and possible loss of data and files with an unexpected crash. You would have to be constantly backing things up on removable media to avoid any major loss from a failed array.
 
Everything I have that's important is backed up. If my RAID Array fails, I could get everything back in 3 hours at the VERY most.

In my computer, I've got 2 55 GB Hard Drives (had them laying around, and don't have enough money to buy a single big hard drive, so I'm attempting to RAID those) than I've got a 160 GB that I'm using for storage.

EDIT: Alright, I know I said it last time, but this time I'm almost certain I've got it. I downloaded and installed nForce4, and all the other driver stuff that I needed to install, and than disconnected myself from the internet, than I turned it back on and installed Vista AGAIN. Than after it installed, I went through and installed the drivers for 1 thing, than rebooted, than downloaded for 1 more, than rebooted, and so on until I had all my drivers downloaded, than I hooked the internet back up and clicked the Windows Update and than went through and looked at every one of the updates available looking for the devil updates so I could hide them(as well as the language packs) I only found 1, and I'm not sure it was one of the devil updates, but it doesn't matter because it's hidden now.

Anyways, still haven't seen the box asking to install the drivers for the Controllers, so I think it should be all good now... Hopefully...

The fresh installation of Windows and the process of auto detection and automatic updating apparently saw the right drivers go on as well as a new registry to work with. But if you run into this again soon you may want to run the pair of smaller drives there as indivduals or simply use one as the OS drive until you buy one that you can stay with.

you can also pm tlarkin about arrays and the problems often seen with them for some tips from him since he has had more time working with them.

I bet that next time I do a re-installation, that I'll have a single big hard drive, so I won't need to set up the RAID.
 
u dont need raid just put the sata plug in a sata port and vista will see another hard drive and make sure you install all the drivers that came with your motherboard.
 
Yeah, I know how to set it up so that there's 2 physical and logical hard drives, but I'd rather have it set so there's only 1 logical hard drive. I got it all set up just fine now though.
