Evga 750i FTW power problem

I just purchased a new evga 750i FTW motherboard to replace the Evga 680i motherboard in my computer. I had to replace the 680i because I suddenly had startup problems It was on its way to working beautifully for about 2 years till this happened.
The board would display a "--" on the post code LEDs. I checked some forums, and a lot of people where having similar problems. (It may have been due to grounding or dust collection.)

Regardless, I didn't want to deal with that problem so instead I bought a new Evga 750i FTW board. The problem I am having deals with trying to keep the power on.
I can turn on the computer and have it boot up, but it will suddenly just turn off. It will do this no matter if I touch any keys, open the bios, or just let it sit.

Im not sure why it is turning off. Could it be a PSU problem? of maybe a problem due to me switching the motherboard out?

If someone could PLEASE help, I would most appreciate it.

...... you threw away your motherboard because it was having grounding or dust issues? holy shit.

I didnt just through the old board away. It would not boot up. There was something wrong. I didnt touch it for about 2 week and then I get post codes of "--" ? Forums say that that mean a grounding issue. It is not a known post code according the the evga manual. I didnt have the time to be sitting on my hand.

All of this is besides the point, I have a new problem with the 750i board. I turn it on and while booting, probably within about 1 min, it will just turn off.

Anybody have a possible solution to this problem. Even a way of testing things would help me out. Thanks.

Let me guess, it's displaying 'FF' on the POST readout? I had this problem with mine, apparently it's pretty common.

First off, try pushing the BIOS chip in a little, making sure it's properly seated. If you're unsure where it is, I can post up a picture?

Secondly, are you using a after market HSF? It could be screwed on too tight. This was the problem with my Tuniq Tower's backing plate. I tried the stock Intel one and it worked. Try loosening it a little, but make sure it's still making proper contact with the CPU.
