We'll I found out that the mobo jdec is 1.8v and the memory I have is standard 2.1v Now I understand I may get a C1 memory code but will I be able to update the bio memory voltage / timings and still use the memory. Or could this be a big issue cause an unstable system?
The default motherboard voltage now is 1.8 volts....almost all come with that in the BIOS when manufactured. Yes...you can change the voltage and timings in the BIOS. Every motherboard BIOS is a little different of course. The motherboard manual should have the information on changing the settings. The first couple times I booted it was unstable because I did not have the correct info for the RAM. I had to change all my RAM settings.....and it worked great I did some digging on the Corsair website and found extended timings and entered those also. Make sure when you do the research for your timings you look at the exact part number, one letter difference or one extra number can be completely different timings. Not to insult you intelligence but I have seen it done (but the number was close so I figured it was ok and now it won't start)
