EVGA 9800 gt 512mb screwing up

Hey,

I just bought an evga geforce 9800 gt 512mb from newegg: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130435.

i put it into my computer, but i did not have a PCI 2.0 x16 slot, so i used my 1.0 x16 slot. I have it connected to a 460W power supply so i think it has enough power.

anyways, the problem is that it performs incredibly terrible in games, and i get random pixels sometimes on the screen. (eg: halo 1 glitches on medium settings, when the card is supposed to run it on high setings no problem). Oh yeah, i forgot to disable my motherboard bios graphics when i installed the card, but does that make a huge difference like this?

is there a problem with these specs and the card?

Motherboard: micro atx Asus M2N68-LA
Graphics: evga 9800 gt 512mb
PSU: coolermaster 460w
RAM: dual-channel DDR2 3gb PC2-6200 (2x512mb,2x1gb)
processor: amd phenom 9500 2.2ghz quad
Hard drive: seagate 400gb

if anyone can relate to or help solve this problem, that would be awesome
:)

I have that exact same mobo, so I don't think there should be anything wrong with the mobo. Do you have another machine that you can test the card on? And make sure you have the most recent drivers installed.

thanks for the help guys. I did update my drivers, and it solved the pixelating screen and grand theft auto 4 now runs like it should. WoW and Halo are still screwing up but i figured out it was because of my slow internet that was causing that.
