Are you asking about an ATI Crossfire setup or simply two differents cards like one PCI-E and the other PCI? For Crossfire like SLI both cards have to be identical PCI-E 16x models seeing the same vpu chip on the cards themselves. Different brands see different core clock and memory speeds. Those would likely cause problems.
