evga is toast

The issue with the card is, the BIOS starts up with colourful lines all over the place, then when I should be seeing the windows loading page, it goes black.Tried my 7900gt and it works fine. I bought an evga 8800gtx 1.5 years ago thinking I had a lifetime warranty BUT, when I went to their site, it says, I had to register my product within 30 days of purchase to get my lifetime warranty. What the hell is this? I buy sh*t all the time and never register anything. So am I screwed now?
 
Well, there have been reported issues with the older cards, if you bought them 1 - 2 years ago, and they're acting weird, though, they're denying this and I don't think they're going to do anything about it.


Have you tried an aftermarket cooler?
 
Nearly all good things in life have terms and conditions...

All manufacturers that claim Lifetime Warranty have written next to it in small letters *if you register within 30 days of purchase...

You are pretty much screwed...

But dont the GPU manufacturers have a 3 year warrant normally ( or 2 year?)?
 
Unfortunately, that is why i read the warranty terms on all my products the day i buy them... So sorry to hear that your 8800gtx is acting up, id try cleaning the dust and stuff outta the heatsink to see if that helps.
