that paste sucks.. really, its not good. I can only suggest you get a bottle of STG-01 (Zalman) or Arctic Silver 5 (my preference goes to the first one tough tbh.)
but,.. no there isnt a date on it.. besides that, the cooler isnt out for very long already, so even if, i really doubt it would have gone bad already
edit: i assume you want to cool your PIII with it? then i think you could try the paste that came with it.. but i wouldnt want to use it on my pc

Basically, all that will happen to thermal paste over time is it will gradually separate.

the white paste stuff is basically crap in a tube. i believe it's silicon based or something. at least get yourself some silver based stuff with some actual metal content, if not the as5 or the zalman stuff.
i vote zalman too, as it's easier to apply and regulate the amount you use. with the paste, a smooth coat doesn't mean even coverage. but with the zalman, it's pretty much a liquid you brush on.
