I purchased an ex-demonstrator from a major electrical store. The administrater is in the stores name and unfortunately I do not have the password. Is not having access to the administrater be a problem, I would like to remove the name.

May I thank everyone who responds in advance.

Sorry it could also read " I purchased an ex-demonstrator from a this guy in a pub" or "I got this knockoff and can't break the password".
We have no way of knowing the truth and Forum rules won't allow discussion on it.

Put an OS disc in and reformat or easier still, take it back to the store for them to unlock it.

When I purchased it from Currys it had a user "Currys" this is the administrator. I have been able to set another user as me however it is annoying whenever I log on and it gives me choice of who I am i.e. 'Currys' or 'me'. As currys is the administrator and I do not have a password for currys would anyone forsee any problems I may expericance.

I do not have an OS disc I thought when they sold me it it would come with an os disc.

I know what hes talking about, they put a currys admin account on the system...and when they dont want customers messing around with the machines they lock the account so it just shows the login screen.

what you need to do is contact Currys about the issue, they should help you remove the account.
