Its their non existant customer support that annoys me,The people i spoken too on the phone had no clue what i was on about, kept re-directing me from one dept to another.

Why the hell Rockstar used this Windows live is boyond me its utter crap.

well GTA4 was the first GTA to be not Sony exclusive, so i reckon part of the deal made between microsoft and rockstar says that rockstar must use microsoft for their PC version

Its not only in GTA IV its happned

FUEL:
http://forums.gamesforwindows.com/t/5581.aspx

A windows live memberteam said they are working on this issue, for Fuel though...what about GTA IV? :P

another game was mentioned also with this problem,Im going to pm those who i can that have this priblem on other forums etc and see if we can at least get all together to chat about this problem and hopefully get through to them!!!!!!

That number wouldnt work for me,not a uk number...however i tried a Microsoft uk number i have and instead of going through all the automated crap i just pressed 0 and what do you know....streight through to talk to a rep lol

BUT....all he said was,you have to contact us tommorow between 9am-10pm and select option 1 from the automated options

So still got me nowhere because ive been through all that before

no wonder someone cream pied bill gates in teh face :D

I was thinking....i wonder if my recent hardware change could have cause this problem?

See as with windows acctivation,Sometimes if you switch a mobo then your windows thinks...hand on this isnt the hardware im activated on so it deactivates :D

im wondering if changing my graphics card from a 8800GT to a 4890 XT could have done exactly the same thing,But in windows live, maybe they go on activation by your systems specs/serial numbers or something? and me changing the major component for gaming which is my graphics card maybe thats why?

urghh! so many questions and no support!

im actualy quite shocked by microsofts tech support,i bet if i was phoning to say i wanted 100 copies of windows 7 they would be all nice and answer any question you have

Yeah probably,Im gonna phone tech support and demand i talk to Bill gates lol
ohh he would get an earfull :D

right on another forum someone recommended i do this,

Uninstall GTA IV from programs and features,

Create a new user account which has administrator access with password protected.

Install GTA IV in a new user account that you have created, activate the product and try to play

Let me know if that works out for you.

I doubt it will work but what do i have to loose? afterall im stuffed either way if i dont try to get it working.
