Hi was using excel earlier for my university coursework. at uni we used the solver add in to do problems, so thats what I need to do at home. when i went to add solver on mine at home though it says i need to install it using the cd. I lent the cd to a friend, is there anyway of getting the solver add in through the internet

You might try downloading it from Microsoft.
