Exchanging for windows x64

I have an athlon 64 and am going to exchange my current windows xp pro for windows x64 as explain on this page. I know that there are some compatability issues with windows x64, but I need to do the exchange by July 31. Once I did the exchange, could I still use my current windows xp pro until most of the compatability issues are ironed out?
 
i do not recommend you do that. Download the trial version which is the same thing and install it , before 3 days goes but you will want to go back. There are so many things you have to look for , mobo drivers , printer drivers , video card drivers , and don't get me wrong there are all this stuff but all beta which is outdated.
 
I'm aware of that, that's why I want to know if I can just keep windows x64 in my drawer for a while after I do the exchange and still run my current version of win xp pro.
 
you can still downlaod it , and i think once you trade in your cd key you lose your activation within 30days ( which gives time for you to install windows x64)
