Expanding hard drive space beyond 2tb

Hello I'm looking to expand the amount of hard drive space I can use beyond 2tb. I currently have a 1tb primary hard drive partitioned, mostly just to mess around with ubuntu, and just a 500gb external hard drive so my overall space is 1.5tb.

Now I just bought:

When I plug it in it recognizes it and sees the device, but since it exceeds the limit I can't use it. I looked into RAID options and found out my motherboard supports RAID 0,1,5,10 matrix, but I don't want to mirror hard drives or split the data. I'm just looking to dock a hard drive up to 2tb and be able to store and use it as an external/removable hard drive with my current 1tb primary hard drive that has my windows 7 os.

Here's my brief computer specs:
-Intel DP45SG motherboard
-Intel core duo CPU E8500 3.16GHz
-4GB RAM (2.5 usable according to windows)
-Windows 7 32-bit
-1tb Western Digital primary hard drive
-ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2
-750W thermaltake power supply
 
I am not gona say anything about yout first two choices, because looks good, but i have not heard good things about hitachi, either read reviews before buying (you should really do this for any product) but i would go for either Seagate Barracuda or samsung spinpoint, both have very good reviews from my friends, and these are the ones i am getting too so.
Just another question why do you not want to put the extra hard drive inside your computer, why all this 3.0 buying, you should have enough space inside, and it would not go any slower or faster if you put it through the 3.0. i guess you could buy the USB 3.0 PCI slot for any other 3.0 staff you might have. but if have space for hard drive inside then put it inside.
 
I'm not too worried about how that hard drive will perform, I just want to be able to dock any size drive and be able to read/write to it. And the usb 3.0 card has been a pain so far. I saw a couple returned cards in the store and I had to return one cause tech support said I probably had a bad card and now the second card is doing the same thing. So I might wait on usb 3.0, but docking a hard drive would still be nice.

good reason, then i suppose i gave you my opinion on hard drives, the rest really depends on the batch, and it seems there have been a few bad ones. perhaps buy form different place.
