Explain between Bridge, AP, AND ROUTER

Hi,
I've got an Quetec pci wireless card. It says it's a 4 in 1 wireless card.

It says it can be used as a Access Point

or a Bridge,

or a Router,

or a WLAN Client.

I'm currently using it in a PC just to pink up the signal from my Linlsys router, and it works fine.

Can any one explain in simple terms what it means when it says It can used as a Bridge, Router, AccessPoint or WLAN Client

I can change the status from "Station Mode" to "AP" Mode in which I get nothing in AP mode, but in station mode it works fine.

I know what a Router, Repeater or Expander is but the Bridge, AP, throws me off.

How would I use it as a AP? Or Bridge (to what) or Router? What would I do to use it as a Router?

Thanks

Instead of asking that, you could google it and then no one would have to write several pages of info that is already out there. An Access point is a wireless switch so to speak, a bridge is when you connect to devices together and they act as 1, a router routes traffic, and the client is the end user's computer on the network.

For more description try wikipedia or google searching those words and you will get a full technical description.

I did

I did google it before I posted but it still didn't make sense.

If I have this wireless pci card how would I use it as a stand alone router?

Removing it form my existing system, to understand it's ability. How could I use it as a bridge top another PC.

If I wanted to use it as Access point, what else would I need.

If I wanted to use it as a wireless router, what would I need?

This device only has an antenna, I'm trying to under stand what it can do in laymans terms.

Say, as a Bridge between two computers, what would the other pc need.
or as a AP to what?
Thats what i couldn't google out of it.

The box says it can do all those things, but the box says it automatic.

I guess I should have bought two of these fancy cards, maybe together they could explain the theory behind the claim.
Thanks

Whats the exact model number of the card? Cause i'm curious how that card can do all those things.

Maybe you can just ask specific questions? I mean I don't feel like writing a lecture on how to describe what each term is when you can google them already.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to use this card as a repeater or a bridge or something? What is your higher goal here?

Quetec 4 in 1

Quetec 4 in 1 is all the box says

ON the box it says:

4 in 1 Intergrates Router, AP, Bridge, WLAN client functions in single device.
Support Windowa 2000/XP

Auto-detected and cinfigure for securing network - WEP, TKIP encryption and filtering

Flexable WiFi Solutions

No model number, only quetec.net (which is no more)
