Is explorer.exe just suddenly taking up a bunch of resources? Mine does that sometimes. In task manager it will sometimes be hogging most of the CPU. I haven't found a fix for it yet.

No, not at all. No CPU usage (99% system idle) and plenty of memory available. I just get the "hand" cursor and whatever icon I clicked stays focused but nothing happens and nothing else is clickable. The only thing I can operate is the Task Manager.

I just want the resident experts to say my log is clean and I'll look elsewhere for the problem :)

Hello TFT :D!
There are some stuff here I see and that don't prove useful at all.
Please open up your HijackThis again and choose Do a system scan only.
Check these entries if found:
  • R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = file:///D:/Data/My%20Web%20Files/Web%20Homepage/HOMEPAGE1.htm
  • O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-19\..\RunOnce: [SAFE7] "C:\Program Files\Steganos Safe 7\SAFE7.exe" -firstboot (User 'LOCAL SERVICE')
  • O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-20\..\RunOnce: [SAFE7] "C:\Program Files\Steganos Safe 7\SAFE7.exe" -firstboot (User 'NETWORK SERVICE')
  • O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-18\..\RunOnce: [SAFE7] "C:\Program Files\Steganos Safe 7\SAFE7.exe" -firstboot (User 'SYSTEM')
  • O4 - HKUS\.DEFAULT\..\RunOnce: [SAFE7] "C:\Program Files\Steganos Safe 7\SAFE7.exe" -firstboot (User 'Default user')
Please close all open windows except the HijackThis and click Fix checked.
Reboot your computer now.

System still lagging?

Hi Gamemaster

The Homepage.htm is my own that I use

Steganos Safe is used to encrypt my personal data

Do you still want me to fix them?

I have restored back to a month ago and so far the desktop freezing has not happened.:)

Sure thing, then don't fix them.
I haven't found any information about your encryption program on the Internet, except 3-4 links on German.
So leave them.
I have one question though: did you use the system restore before or after posting a HijackThis log here?

I used System restore about 2 hours after I posted the log because it was getting a pain in the a** :)

Thanks for looking over it and giving me the all clear

Not a problem at all!
Also, your problem could be driver issued. Who knows, but somebody or something may have disabled your screen driver or anything else ( I wouldn't really know, lol).
Just to assure people, not all problems are malware caused :D
Glad to know the system restore helped...
Drop by if having some problems...

And edit to remind you : that word in your previous post, you could edit it so you don't get a warning or something:D Then it would really be a pain in the a**.
