Hi, I recently had a windows update on my laptop, and afterwards internet explorer had disappeared, I ran backup /restore disc and got everything back to original settings. now when I try to search on explorer it cannot find server. LAN is connected, wireless broadband with telefonica in spain, and have checked all the settings compared with the lap top I am using now. the laptop in question is showing it is connected but wont search anything including outlook, any advice or clues where to look.

Try changing the proxy settings. I'm expecting that the proxy settings have been changed somehow.

To change the proxy settigs, go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Lan Connection -> Settings and uncheck "Use a proxy setting for this connection ".
