Extended display question

As per title, I'm trying to achieve extended desktop display. So far I have ascertained that a usb vga video card is a solution, however my laptop does have a vga and hdmi port. My question is, can I use a HDMI to VGA converter to hook up one monitor and the VGA port to hook up the other and achieve the results I want? Please bear in mid - both monitors are VGA output.

Thanks for your help.

On my laptop that has a VGA and HDMI support I plugged a TV into the HDMI port and a external monitor into the VGA port and it all worked fine.

If you have these ports on your laptop you should not need an extra usb to vga card.

Just go ahead and plug a monitor/tv in there and hit your *windows key + P* combination to switch your screens to using dual outputs.

Yeah, You'd need a hdmi to vga adapter for that one part. :)
