external floppy with xp

Im trying to get an external floppy using parrallel to work on xp pro. Its not showing up on in explorer or device manager. anyone know the problem?

Do you have usb 2.0 support inplace? If you don't SP2 included or downloaded and installed you may be stuck with usb 1.1 which would likely be source of the problem in detection there. But even with that does the drive require drivers? What make and model is the drive?

kof2000- I tried the BIOS, The only this I can do in there is enable parrallel port

PC eye- this is a parrallel connection not usb. ITs a Mitsubishi drive. I havent found an drivers.

I'd say go with an external usb case, it's probably the easiest thing to do.

That will only work if the BIOS on your mobo will support USB without the OS.
