External GPU bandwidth speed

I am planning to buy an eGPU but im not sure if some things will slow it down because of bandwidth

I do not have a mini pcie port or expresscard. So I found this: https://www.amazon.com/M-2-NGFF-PCI...F8&qid=1482530522&sr=8-7&keywords=m.2+to+pcie

This will connect to the m.2 key m port in my laptop.

Then I found a riser for a pcie express x4 to x16.

Link: https://www.amazon.com/Express-PCI-...id=1482632296&sr=8-1&keywords=x4+to+x16+riser
The riser will then connect to the m.2 to x4 port then to a GPU

Finally I am getting a gtx 1060 with a PSU to fit on to the x16 riser at the end.
I am wondering, will the m.2 key m to x4 express slow things down?

Will this slow GPU speeds?

Yes most certainly. I am concerned if that contraption will allow enough power via the PCIe (eventual) slot, however to answer your question yes, it will slow things down. Its a very interesting idea though, I would try with a much lower powered card (second hand say) and cheap before purchasing a 1060.
