Hi i bought a mid-ish gaming laptop (GL 62 6QD) from MSI and would like to add an EGPU with a 1080 in it for more performance but I don't know if my laptop is capable of this or is there something i need my laptop to have, cause i have USB type-C 3.0 but I don't know if that will be compatible with the EGPU technology. Your help is very much appreciated.

No it won't work. External GPU's (ie. Razer Core) rely on the Thunderbolt 3 interface, which shares the USB Type 3 plug, but is technically different as Thunderbolt runs purely on PCI-E lanes.

Thank you for your help on my problem, guess i will have to figure something else out for more performance.
