Translated into English

what about trailing some connnectors out of your computer or laptop to connect a graphics card on the exterior of your machine. One could then take it when you don't need it. This might be good for laptop users as they could disconnect it to go on the move, then come back and play games. Let me know any thoughts you may have...

sorry, i know a bad workamn blams his tools, but this keyboard i am using at school sucks the sweat off a dead mans balls, im used to typing on my new laptops keyboard you see....and im used to typing the same speed i tal kwhich is bloody fast, notice the lack of spelling mistakes in the posts i put with my laptop in

lol i think its a bad idea. a very bad idea. they say PCI bottlenecks (which it does, very much so as well) and AGP will be outdated for the same reason anytime now...
but USB has a max of what... 480Mbits/s? that means 60mbps... and if i remember correctly thats around half the speed of a pci slot is it not?

put it this way... the top of the line x1900XTX's have a memory bandwidth of about 50GB/sec. That means if it was via USB, it would be about 850 times slower, but of course thats a top of the line card.

yea, plus pci-e doesnt need to be that fast... since it only really needs to be the same speed as the system memory in order to work fine. pci-e is much faster than most system memory though, for future purposes.
whats pci-e frequency? something like 2.5ghz? plus, 16 lanes.
even system memory, ddr400 in single channel lets say... around 2.8gbps. USB is around 45 times slower than system memory. not to mention pci is around 20 times slower... AGP would be a much better alternative or pci-e.
an external graphics card would probably be worse than integrated graphics would.

what about some sort of external pci-e slot then? like a pc card slot but different, for pci-e, then you could fit lots of external stuff, wouldnt that work? or am i just an idiot...anyway, i cant remember saying anything about usb and am to lazy to read and find out where it originated from, so what about an externally accessible pci-e?
