External Hard Drive and music storage

I am planning to buy an external hard drive to store all of my music on. I plan store the music without any compression, so the files will be about 25mb each. I want to listen to the music using itunes, as it has fantastic visualisations and I can play my gapless albums as such.
As I do not yet have a EDD, I have some questions.
Can I load itunes onto my EDD, and access my EDD in the same way that I access my C drive on my computer? Or, do I use my EDD like any other external device, and if so, how do I store the music on my EDD and run it through itunes?
Any feedback or advice will be much appreciated. :)

you should be able to use it to store your music. When you install itunes you will get to a point where it asks where to install to. Just choose your external drive and you will be set. It is no different than installing to a non C drive inside your computer.

Ta, that is what I thought.
Next question:
My connections will be external drive > lap top > amplifier. Can I run a wireless system (eg: external drive > bluetooth > lap top > bluetooth > amplifier) so that I can control my music from anywhere in the house?
