External Hard Drive full format running for over 10 hours.

Hey,

I tried researching on the subject before enlisting for help. I kept my external hard drive for a full format hoping that it would be completed overnight. However it's been over 10 hours and leave alone a format, the status bar hasn't even begun to show progress. Uploading an image of the same.
(Its a WD Elements 3.0 1 TB hard drive. Accidental removal during transfer has rendered the data corrupt. Quick format had the drive working, albeit extremely slow transfer speed)
Any help would be much appreciated.

A full format for a 1tb drive should only take about 6 hours maybe. If there is no progress bar(can't see the image, too small) then try using a third party program to completely wipe the drive such as kill disk or dban. It's possible that you have damaged the drive since it was disconnected during a transfer.
