External Hard Drive Issue

Whenever I delete something on my external hard drive it simply moves it into a hidden recycled folder on the drive. So far I have not been able to figure out any possible way to permanently delete things off of the drive. I have over 5 gbs taken up in the recling bin that I don't want. If I try to delete them out of the recycled folder it simply moves them back in with a new name. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Same here, Never solved that problem in my school's 98SE computer either. It wouldnt delete it, it would just rename it and move it back to the recycle bin.

Shift - Delete should remove items totally bypassing the recycling bin.
