External Hard Drive Problem

i bought a 1TB external hard drive and was working great, then i reformatted my computer and plugged my drive back in and its not showing up under my computer, im running vista. When i plug it in it says device installed sucessfully but i cant open it, I right click on my computer and click manage and go to storage device and it says its "the device is working properly" , but i cant open it...

Any ideas? Thanks
 
Is there a drive letter assigned to it? Can you give us a screen shot of disk management?

If you right click on disk 5, what are your options? According to that page there is no data on the drive.
 
all it says when i right click on it is properties and help, yea its weird it saying no data i had about 15gb of stuff on it!
 
Now its just a matter of partitioning it and formatting the drive. Do the same thing and right click on that disk 1 and there should be an option to partition the drive.
