I bought a 1tb Toshiba external hard drive recently, and I cannot see it in the windows explorer. I am using windows 7, in devices and printers, I can see the device labeled "external usb 3.0 device" (my laptop only has usb 2.0, but the guy at radio shack said that it would work with 2.0). I can also see it in the devices section of computer management. For some reason, it is shown as 2 partitions. One for 9gb, and the other for 991 gb. When I right clicked on them, the "change drive letters and paths" option was not available. What am I doing wrong? I thought that external HDDs were supposed to work the same as USB flash drives.
