G ghghgh New Member Apr 11, 2005 #1 Hello, I recently purchased an external hard drive and it has no power switch, so when I plug it into the wall it powers up automatically. When I'm ready to turn it off, do I just un-plug the cord from the wall??? Thanks in advance!

You should use that "Safely romove thing". As for the disable cache: 1. Control Panel 2. SYstem 3. Hardware 4. Device Manage 5. Right click on the drive --> properties 6. Goto policies and uncheck it
