External Hard Drive

Hello All i have a two part question

Im looking to get a external 500gb hard drive for my back up files

What should i get the Seagate FreeAgent Pro, or the Western Digital My Book Office Edition

My main hard drive is 320gb, i was told that my hard drive back up should be larger than my main hard drive, but since i only need certain files and im not making a mirror of my main hard drive do i really need that much space

I read bad reviews of the WD MyBook but I don't know if the Seagate is any better. It could be.

I had the free agent 500 for a while ( I gave it to my son, he needed one more than I did) Didn't have any issues with it, but if your using linux, there have been reports of it not waking up after it goes to sleep..
