How do I reformat my multi-media external hard drive.Once done will it be like starting over from new with everything removed?Is there a risk that the drive could be damaged after reformatting?Thanks if someone out there can advise.
 
Right click on the drive in "My Computer" and choose "Format" and be sure to tick the box that says "Quick Format" otherwise it'll take forever if it's a big drive. It will then wipe everything off the drive making it blank. So if there is anything you wana save, back it up first.

And no, formatting the drive won't damage it.
