External Hard Drive

Im looking to get a external harddrive to carry around with me so I can use it to store school work and just random files. I been looking at the external enclosures and basically 2 types that catch my eye the SATA to USB 2.0 and the IDE to USB 2.0. It seems the ide to usb 2.0 will be easier to find and put together to buy and be cheaper. The SATA to USB 2.0 will be more expensive and as far as I can see i've tried looking and shopping for it and its not fun.

How big of a difference would I see between a SATA to USB 2.0 vs IDE to USB 2.0?

Thank You

im not entirely sure, but i think it won't make a difference cause the transfer rate of USB2.0 is lower than both IDE and SATA harddrives. So it really doesn't matter. I could be wrong though.

exactly right, usb is considerably slower than either so theoretically you would notice no difference in speed

Thank you for the feedback it made a big difference in my decision and won't cost me as much money now!

Thanks!
