External Hard Drives any opinions

I have a small business that I would like to back up my computers to a portable external hard drive. My C: drive shows a capacity for 75GB. I am not real computer savvy, so I have a few questions.
1. What brand is recommended?
2. Can I back up my entire C: drive to the external drive?
3. If yes, what size external should I purchase?
4. Will the external back up my program data or just my data files?

Thanks,

Well,

I built my external Hard Drive. For $110 for 160GB. $10 for a 2.5" Case, $100 for a 160GB 2.5" Laptop Hard Drive.

i would recommend doing this as it is a lot cheaper and doesn't require external power.

But if anything i would recommend 160GB.

If you were to buy one - go for Western Digital or Seagate.

To back up the files, you can copy the whole hard drive and it will have all the files for programs on it. So files and the data files.

But if you wanted to boot windows from the external drive - you can't.

Hope this helps.

Where are you located in the world??? - we might be able to give a website link on buying a hard drive.
