so heres my problem i have a ps3 that i want to copy downloaded blue-ray movies on to from my pc, i bought a 1tb external drive to hold them all, problem is ps3 will only read fat32 and now everytime i try to copy large movie files on it it says there is not enough free space when there is nothing on it the files are only 15gb. is there anyway to make this work or is that just the downside of fat32?

To make FAT32 partitions large, you have to increase the number of kilobytes per sector. You can do it with Partition Magic.

FAT32 cannot copy files larger than 4GB in size. I'd have to to be formatted in NTFS, but you said PS3 can't read NTFS, so you're therefore out of luck.

WikiHow suggests splitting the files into sections.

Voyagerfan99 is right about the 4 Gig max file size w/ FAT32. Thats why I had to make my software partition into sections. Common Software, Win 98 Software, and XP Software, cause if I didn't do it that way it was too big to do a backup on..
