hay everyone!
this is my first thread..
i want to know one simple thing:
is there a wat to know my external ip not through sites like "whatmyip"
maybe through cmd?
ive searched a lot in google and youtube and didnt find an answer...

How are you connected? Through a router or directly to a modem? If directly to a modem, go into cmd and type ipconfig. The address it shows you will be your public IP.

You could log into your WAN facing device and see.

If you're just on some random network then it's going to be an external service telling you where you're coming from. Most places do things like NAT so the destination IP of the packet becomes rewritten as it enters your private subnet.

As other have said, if you are behind a router, log into that router and look at the WAN status/settings. You can use CMD and ipconfig if you are directly connected to your modem, if not then you will just get your local IP.

but the ipconfig shows my internal ip i want to know my external
how do i do that? (log into my WAN/NAT)..i am noob at this :P

The easiest way is to google "what is my IP", it will tell you without having to go to any additional external sites, only Google.com. If you refuse to do this, and you are behind a router, you need to log into that router and look at the WAN interface.

We can't tell you how, as it depends on the model router and if you have any custom configurations. Generally, you can access it by looking at your network status, and entering in the gateway IP into a web browser.
