I have a Toshiba Satellite L455D-S5976 on witch the LCD is unfunctional. I have used it for 2 or 3 days with an apple LCD monitor with no problem.

What i want to know is simple. Is there a way to hook up a mouse and keyboard to it to make it possible to close it up and put the monitor on it while in use.

i do not see the problem here.
USB port for Mouse and keyboard. close the lid and connect to monitor. I just would not recommend puting it on it, but by the side i see no problems. is there a problem when you shut the laptop screen and the computer turn off than that could be dealt with no problems. please tell me what OS you have on that so that i can give you how to change the settings for when closing the lid (i.e. power settings)
Otherwise that is exactly what i had for about two year, laptop on its side below desk connected to a monitor, but i had wireless mouse and keyboard.
Hope i help a bit
