External PSU Mount?

So, not saying I will by anymeans, but I am thinking about getting 2 power supplys for one pc.My case doesnt support it, so is there a mount for a low price ($25 and below, I hope) that mounts a psu externally?

may I inquire as to why? And there is more to it than just the mount. You will also need a way to power the second one. I think xoxide.com has a plug that will turn on 2 supplies at once.

Hmm... Assuming it can not be found, you might be able to make you one fairly cheap. All you would need is a C clamp, angle iron, bolts or JB Weld (or a welder if you have it already) and a way to cut the angle iron.

I have a welder, but I sure am not gonna use it on my case.Im just hoping for a cheap mount. And, do you think some velcro might be enough?Like, on the top of the case?

no, no. I was saying that you weld the angle iron to from the mount. You would likely burn through the case if you tried that. Maybe Velcro or small bolts. You also need to take into account of what you are powering to make sure your mount point is within cable range of your component.

You could find a drive bay from an old case and modify that? I'm just throwing stuff out there.

But for what reason would you need 2 PSU's?

Byte, you only need two PSUs if you're running some sort of crazy 3-way SLI or 3-way CrossFire setup with high-end cards and running everything (CPU, RAM, GPU etc) overclocked, and even then you can probably easily get away with one 1000-1500W unit.

Just stick with the one PSU. You'd be wasting your money going for two.

Indeed, but I haven't actually see anyone use 2 PSU's for a gaming rig or multimedia rig. Most people who do alot of Rendering etc and need Tri SLI or Tri CFX use 1500W psu's but havent seen any 2 PSU rigs. Only for the L3PD3SK as he used 1 1000W PSU for the power and 1 1000W PSU for his full W/C Loop

I haven't seen any multi-PSU setups here on CF, but I have elsewhere. Some people do actually have multi-PSU setups. Usually they have one PSU to power the CPU, board, RAM, hard drives, optical drives etc and then a separate one to power the GPUs. :D
