Extracting fonts....help!!

I've done this many times before but when I go to extract a font I downloaded, I can't find anything to extract it with....what am I missing here? I don't remember what I was using but its been a few months since I attempted this. Could the program I was using be gone? I thought it came with my computer but ehh its nowhere to be found.

If anyone knows what I can do to find this and or another free program I can get to extract files, that would be greatly appreciated.
 
What kind of archive are you downloading? I guess a program like WinRAR or 7zip can probably open all of them.
 
Both the programs I mentioned will open a zip file. You may have been using Winzip but Windows should be able to open zip files natively as well.
 
I was using windows before, I don't know where that app went on my comp. Its gone though, I used to be able to just click the file i downloaded then there was an option to extract it...that option doesn't come up anymore.

While we're at it what Virus program would you recomend, mine expired but wasn't happy with it to begin with

Winrar and 7zip have shell integration I believe (will add otions to the right click menu)

I use avast.
