Eyefinity related question, or is it? (4 monitors)

Can't seem to find any relevant info but it might not even be Eyefinity related.

Just bought an HIS 6950 2GB, has 2 DVI ports, 1 HDMI and 2 Mini-DP ports. On the box it says it can support 4 monitors, which is great, my setup is actually using 4 right now.

I tried plugging in 2 DVI monitors and 1 HDMI monitor but it will only detect 2 (I had my doubts it would). My main goal is to have 4 monitors on one card that have extended desktops so I can multitask properly, but I will just be gaming with ONE main monitor, so I don't need any 3-screen spanning and what not.

Here's a pic of my setup so you can understand properly:

My question is, if I get these adapters: http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10428&cs_id=1042802&p_id=5106&seq=1&format=4

... and I plug my 2x DVI into the Mini-DP, my HDMI into the HDMI and my VGA into a DVI slot with a VGA to DVI adapter, will I be able to have 4 screens with extended displays properly?

Thanks.

The adapters that you linked will not work. You need active display port adapters in order to have them all run off of one card. I think the best solution would be to go 2x DVI and 2x Mini DP with the active adapter.

EDIT: Hell of a setup BTW. Wish I was sitting in front of that right now.

Thanks for the quick response and thanks for the compliment!

Ok, would this work properly? http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815309008

I need the HDMI to remain in the HDMI slot because my main monitor is a TV. That way, I can switch to sound on the speakers if I don't want to use my headphones. I don't want to hook up seperate speakers because they take up space on the desk and I only have speakers with a subwoofer which takes even more space.

Do you think it would still work properly? When you use Mini-DP does it affect the HDMI port or something?

That will work.

Ok if I have this right you can only use 2 out of the 3 adapters that are not the mini DP ports. So it looks like you can use 1x HDMI 1x DVI and 2x mini DP ports.

I am not 100% on this but if it were my system that is what I would bet on working.

Alright, I'll do a bit of research to be sure. If anyone else has any insight regarding that please feel free to share!

Thanks again for your help.

Reviews on having 4 monitors are pretty mixed at this point. Some people are saying that those cables work, some don't... I guess I'll just have to order and test.

Alright, so from what I've seen those connectors can't do over 60Hz on MiniDP, which isn't an issue. The TV will be directly plugged into the HDMI port, my VGA to a DVI with an adapter and my 2x DVI into the MiniDP with the adapters.
