you can, dont expectr to play it on high settings though. I havent played it yet, so im not sure, but its supposed to be very demanding. So you may not even make medium

is the cpu that's killing me, I'm planning of making a new compter, the mobo is seriously outdated, I want to buy an SLi system.

On my System I can run It smooth as butter and it looks great :). I set most settings on medium set a couple to maximum for the right balance and run it extremely low res at 1024x768. Just like Doom 3 the game looks awesome even at a low resolution. I could and have ran it at 1280x1024 but it was on the choppy side but with the lower resolution I was able to turn on Volumetric lighting and have a very nice overall appearance and very smooth game play.

i played the demo on my system (see signature) and i could play it on high settings with very minimal lag. You should be able to play on medium ish. and btw, i'm sure you meant 1024mb not gb =)

yeah, sorry about that, I already fixed it. thanks

I play FEAR @ 1280 x 1024 and everything on high (with the exception of volumetric lighting off and textures on medium cuz of glitch with nvidias drivers) and the game runs smooth as can be. For the most part, you have a system that will be able to handle the game probably, as stated, around the medium range. Your processor will probably cause a bottleneck. If you really wanted to, you could look around on the net for a faster processor of the same socket.

the thing is that socket 462 is getting obsolete and the faster i can get for this socket is the athlon xp 3200+ wich runs at 2.2 ghz stock. and my current proccesor is a 2800+ OC to 2.4. so is really lose/lose situation, my only salvation is to make a complete upgrade to the computer(coming this chrismas) with a new kick ass motherboard and Sli.
