Facebook does not use cookies to identify us?

Hi,

I discovered this upon doing a CCleaner clean up. All cache data in all browsers were gone hence all history, cookies and cached files were gone so all websites were reset to their login pages but not Facebook.

Facebook was just as logged in as before.

What do they use instead of cookies?

I did a fresh CCleaner clean up and found that many cookies were not removed from my browser, while majority of pages seemed to logout properly. So its probably something to do with CCleaner then.

You must have changed settings in ccleaner because when I run it, I have to log back in. Or its possible you have excluded facebook cookie from being deleted?

As you can see in the screenshot, facebook is a cookie it will delete if you run it. Check to make sure facebook isn't listed on the right, if so remove it.
