factory hp mobo

ok, so as in my post "help. buying new cpu" i said that i wanted a new cpu. only problem is that my comp isn't custom made, nor built. it's an HP media center m7470n. now the question is, if i get a new mobo, will i have to get a new windows xp because of mobo tattoo?

Short answer... yes. You will not be able to transfer the OEM license to a new motherboard.

actually, idk if i will have to cuz i think i installed a new one before or something, cuz i just put a compaq presario non-tempered or anything in my pc, and it used my mobo...

If it was the existing operating system that came with the computer, then no, you can't transfer the license. If you purchased separately the full retail or upgrade version of XP then yes, you can use it to reinstall the OS.

Torrents may be free but they are extremely unreliable. Yes you may get an operating system for free, but Microsoft WILL install updates that check for crack files in your computer. You can get XP cheap on ebay: here.
