Factory Settings

Okay So basically Ive been sitting on this god dam forsaken computer all day and still cant work it out.
Ok I wana get rid of all the crap off my computer so I wanted to restore it to the factory settings or format the harddrive and delete everything...
I have a HP with Win XP Pro. I have the XP CD But no kind of restore cd or anything came with my computer.
I've tried reinstalling windows only to find all my stuf is still on the computer.. (so Im not very smart) HELP PLEASE!!!!
