Failed to power on with the fans plugged into the Motherboard

Hey I was hoping someone can tell me why my desktop wont start when I have the case fans pugged into the sys-fan plug on my motherboard. When its plugged in the motherboard will light up for a second then it shut off, but when I don't plug the cable (that the fans are plugged into) it starts up.

How many fans are connected to this cable? You're talking about powering multiple fans from a single header, right? Have you tried it with a single fan? Can you check the fans work okay but powering directly from the PSU (you may need a molex adapter to do this)?
