Fake Copy Of Windows 7?

So I just bought a brand new, never open, Retail copy of Windows 7 Ultimate (32 & 64 Bit Included) from a seller on eBay, for a very good price. I opened the Box today so I could install it on my new built and when I touched the "Hologram" it felt kinda like it was on the surface instead of engraved into the disk, like my genuine copy of Microsoft Office 2012. It kinda felt like a sticker but not exactly. The software is activated and it says its genuine. However I have 2 concerns:
1) Under system it says Copyright 2009, Shouldn't it be 2011 or 2012, is this normal? my other concern is,
2) The fact that it was a sticker on the CD instead of the engraved image, is it a fake?
I can post more pictures of the disk upon request.

Your call but does not sound good. I would not be happy. might want to jump on it now and hope ya used a paypal account to get money back.

Sounds like you bought it pirated copy. At least the disc seems to be anyway. And it is copyright 2009 because that's when Windows 7 was released.

And that is why I never buy software on ebay.

edge-to-edge hologram disc, which shows vibrant color and 3D effects as the disc is tilted. This hologram is embedded within the disc; it is not a sticker.

With the latest product releases on CD or DVD from Microsoft, additional optical security features can be seen from both sides of the disc, near the inner hole of the disc and along the outer edge. The features are embedded within the disc; they are not on a sticker. When the disc is flipped over, any text or numbers will be seen as a mirror image of the reverse side.

on another note if using Ebay always look at his feed back and how many items he has sold. my wife has sold about 5,000 items.

Somewhat solved

Man So I just spent the last 3 hours on the phone, first with eBay then with PayPal and now with the credit card. Ebay said sorry, you are sol, once you close a case no returns or refunds can be made (Yes I closed the case by accident before I even got the chance to open the case and use the disk) PayPal said: Well eBay says you are SOL so tie the rock around your neck and jump, there is nothing we can do on our end. The credit card is where it gets good: They will issue a refund which should show in my next card statement at the end of the month. However they will have to notify PayPal and eBay that a refund is going to be issued, so now my fear is that eBay or PayPal will dispute the refund with my Credit Card and tell my Credit Card, not to issue a Refund! The latter is just me speculating and expecting the worse, but for now the Credit Card has issued a refund.

For what it's worth, my Dell-branded OEM copy of Win7 Pro SP1 also says ©2009.
Mine also had a funny-feeling sticker... not on the disc but on the paper envelope. I bought my copy from a legit online software vendor in May 2012.

If your copy is activated and says it's genuine, and you have no difficulty with Windows Genuine Advantage confirmations for Windows Updates, I fail to see a problem.

I don't know why people blank out the product ID. That's not your COA, and nobody can do anything with it.

And as I said, it says copyright 2009 because that is when Windows 7 was released.

Thank you Microsoft!

Well I must have done something good in my past life lol
Just a few minutes after reporting to Microsoft the guy who is selling counterfeit copies of Windows on eBay, I received a message by Microsoft saying "Please remember that you still need to print the report and mail it along with the additional items outlined below. If you do so we can confirm that the software you purchased is counterfeit and can send you a complimentary software replacement kit"

See, now don't you wish you had just gotten the Windows 7 Home Premium System Builder. Like i had originally told you to do..... Instead of all this non sense.. Still pretty cool how microsoft is gonna send you a full copy of windows...

Only one post and you previously told him to do something? Interesting....

good call following up like that and going further. Wouldn't have expected microsoft to be nice enough to bail you out. Then again if my call to the credit received that kind of comment it would be light out with them. did good though with follow up.
