I've always been a bit curious about this... If you have a dirty fan, could you clean it in water and it still work. I say yes, it should work fine. Anyone say it won't?

Haha, I've yet to try this fan again, just waiting untill I'm sure it's nice and dry.

I'll try some other things later for fun if I have some older parts that I know arent worth selling ;)

seems to be done a good few times i might just do it with my old computer to test it out!

thats so cool!! seems kinda yuckey tho..does the oil really keep it cooler? and if its submerged in oil y would you need fans? maby to circulate the oil?...
i bet its really quite too.. now companies just have to start making cases that can have oil in em lol!

Haha, I'll have to try that stuff with the oil! What about fans? Do they just remove them? It seems they'd burn out from the added pressure of the oil. And what if you decide to upgrade or need to replace something... THat'd be kinda gross to work on :P

Iv seen a video of a computer running in oil and it still had fans in it. the fans how ever did seem to be going slower than usual from the pressure of the oil!

When i was younger i took a fan kit, which consisted of 2x AA batteries, a small motor, and some plastic propellers, and i submerged it in the bath tub and it worked for at least 20 minutes! I also held my old cellphone under water for a while and it still worked... but eventually the display got screwed up.
lol what a goofball... who would do that with their cellphone?? lol
unless it was an old one with no sim card.... lol
funnyyyy :D

iv been looking at my crystal xbox and making it vegetable oil cooled! if it ever good really hot I could cook food!

Yeah, I've heard water rarely hurts anything as long as you don't try and send electricity though it when it's wet.

Well that would be because the water allows current to cross it. I don't know allot about electricity but I would have thought that fans days where numbered or the power supplying it as it is actually running in that small pool of water. Very cool to learn otherwise.
