Fan Controller

Hey!

For my next build, I'm planning to get an HAF 932...
I want to have a triple radiator on the top with 3 120mm R4's blowing on it. The side window will have four 120mm R4's blowing on it. I'm going to put another 120mm R4 on the bottom.

I want to be able to control 1. The Window Fans 2. The Radiator Fans 3. The Front intake fan and the bottom intake fan. I'd like it so that one dial controls each section. As for the rear exhaust fan, I'll just put that into the motherboard.

1. Is this possible?
2. If #1 is yes, then what kind of fan controller would be best for price?

:o :) :(  :P ;) :D    :good:

Did someone just find the smiles? :P

Well yes, it should work just fine. The main thing you need to watch out for is making sure you don't pull too many amps over one channel. Aside from that, you should be able to daisy-chain the fans together and run them without a problem.

I have a little fan controller here somewhere. I forget the amps it could take, but I'm thinking it said no more than 5 fans connected together.

As what "one" said, just be careful not to hook up too many fans. Fan controllers are great. I love my Scythe Kaze Master

So which one should I get? Because I don't know whether to get a touch-screen or dial, and I don't really know which ones would best suit me.

I think your going to have to have two of them. All the fan controllers I have seen only let you hook up to 6 fans. You will have 8 correct so you should probably go with 2 cheaper ones then go all out on a touch screen that want allow you to hook up all your fans.

two of these would be good http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811998808

or if you can do with only controlling 6 fans then this one is good http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811995016. This one has a pretty high wattage rating so you could probably daisy chain your other ones together, but if you do that then it will control those fans with the same dial.

I think one Rheobus non-extreme will do... because I'm trying to get all the window fans to work as a unit, all the rad fans to work as a unit, all the front intake fans to work as a unit, and with the last dial I'll configure my CCFLs.

You might want to check how many watts each fan is going to use, since the Rheobus non-extreme has a 20w limit.

I looked at NewEgg, and I can't figure out how many Watts the fans use max... where would I look for that info?

This topic is still not resolved. I have the following questions:
Will one 20W dial work four CM R4s that run at the wattage listed above?
How do I connect the four fan extensions to one singular fan controller extension?
