Fan isn't working

I know this fan works, i plugged it into a plug on the mother board and it doesn't stay running it only spins a little at first when i turn on the computer. I can't figure out how to get it to stay running i've searched bios and the closest thing i find about a fan is the rpm of the cpu fan. I'm trying to add another fan to my case and i already have one for the psu. This fan only has red and black wires no yellow ones i'm pretty sure that wouldn't stop if from running so i'm pretty confused.

Which fan header are you plugging it into on the MoBo? Are you sure it's a fan header? Assuming there's power running to the header, disable any system-controlled fan options in BIOS and reboot.

I'm pretty sure it is because it's the same plug and the cpu one and it gets power for a second when i turn the computer on. It's on the very bottom of the mother board under all the pci slots. I can't find anything in bios about fans besides i can monitor the tempiture of the cpu and see that fan speed. It could also maybe be that i have it on to tight i will check and see if it is.

Ok it was that the fan was to tight or something but now it's working right.
